What is Camp Abilities?

Camp Abiltiies is a residential sport and physical activity camp for children with vision impairments. The main aim of Camp Abilities Ireland is to empower children with vision impairments to be physically active, encouraging and supporting them to continue to participate in sport & physical activity opportunities within their local communities.

At Camp Abilities Ireland, children are provided with the chance to experience new sports and activities that they may not have had the opportunity to attempt before while also helping to improve access to activities that they may already be involved in. By exploring new activities and learning new skills, children can discover something they enjoy, build their self-esteem and confidence, and find new recreation and physical activity opportunities in their own communities. Campers have participated in rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, orienteering, soccer, goalball, judo, swimming, horseback riding, and many other activities.
