Vision Sports Ireland in collaboration with Cycling Ireland and Fingal County Council are delighted to announce our next upcoming Tandem Pilot Training Course which takes place on Saturday April 27th from 11:00 – 14:00 at Fingal County Council Car Park Seatown Road.
The Tandem Pilot Training Course gives cyclists the skills and confidence to pilot an individual who is blind, or vision impaired on a tandem bike.
Tandem cycling is a sport that can be enjoyed at both recreational and elite level’s. the person at the front of the bike is called a pilot and the person at the back is called a stoker. The sighted pilot steers the bike and communicates vital visual information to the stocker behind. Both pilot and stoker have access to the pedals to cycle.
Course Info
The fee for this course is €5 per person
This course comprises of 2 sessions:
- Online theory workshop (2 Hours) which takes place on Thursday 25th of April from 19:00 – 21:00.
- In person practical workshop (3 Hours) which takes place on Saturday April 27th from 11:00 – 14:00.
Should you register for the course, attending both days is mandatory.
