
Róisín Ní Ríain has become World Champion at the Para World Swimming Championships in Manchester, taking out the gold in the 100m Backstroke final on Thursday 3rd August.
With a personal best swim of 01:06:62, Róisín edged out her competition by 0.09 of a second to be crowned world champion.
The gold medal follows on from a silver medal in the 100m Butterfly final on Monday – swimming a personal best and securing a spot at Paris 2024 to kick off her Championships.
Following an agonisingly close swim in the 100m Breaststroke swim on Wednesday, Róisín missed out on a bronze medal by .54 of a second, she was back in the pool to prove a point on Thursday.
Róisín will have one day to recover before she is back in the pool on August 5th for the 400m Freestyle Heat.
