Greta Streimikyte – Athletics
Congratulations to Greta Streimikyte who took to the track during session 1 of day 3 for the 1500m T13 Para World Athletics final. Her time of 4:33.27 is a new European record, and her fourth-place finish also secures a slot for Team Ireland for Paris 2024.
Orla Comerford – Athletics
Another fantastic summer from Orla Comerford at the Para Athletics World Championships in Paris. She laid down a marker on day 2 by posting a personal best of 12.14 in her heat on Sunday finishing third overall as she booked herself a spot in Monday evening’s final.
Comeford finished fourth place in the final only 0.06 of a second away from the podium. Her fourth-place finish was enough to qualify the first slot for Team Ireland for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris next summer.
Róisín Ní Riain – Swimming
Congratulations to Róisín Ní Riain who won gold in the 100m Backstroke Final (S13) with a time of 01:06:62 she edged out her competition by 0.09 of a second to be crowned world champion at the 2023 Para Swimming World Championships.
Katie-George Dunlevy – Tandem Cycling
Congratulations to Katie-George Dunlevy who produced some unbelievable performances where she won two gold medals and one bronze at the World Cycling Championships in Glasgow.
Dunlevy has also been named as Irish Sportswoman of the Month by the Irish Times for August along with Dublin footballer Hannah Tyrrell.
Oliver Gunning – Triathlon
Congratulations to Oliver Gunning who took home gold with a time of 01:18:29 in the PTVI Men’s category at the 2023 Africa Triathlon Para Cup Blue Bay on 9th September 2023.
Donnacha McCarthy – Triathlon
